Compare Beaches and Room Styles
These four Maui beachfront stays offer different ways to wake up near the water. Mana Kai Maui and Hale Hui Kai put you on Keawakapu Beach in South Maui. Nāpili Kai and The Whaler take the search to West Maui, with a bay setting or a lively resort beach.
Looking for a place to stay can feel daunting when there are many choices, or very few left for your dates. This shortlist gives you four distinct starting points, from a smaller condo complex to a resort with activities for the whole family.
Compare four Maui beachfront stays
Start with the beach and the kind of room you need. A hotel room, studio and two-bedroom condo can be very different bookings even within one property. Check the specific unit’s kitchen, cooling, view, occupancy and included services before comparing rates.
Mana Kai Maui: hotel rooms or condos on Keawakapu
Mana Kai sits at the north end of Keawakapu Beach. We like the combination of a beachfront setting and a choice between hotel-style accommodation and condominium space. The ocean-view condo categories have private lanais and kitchens, while a hotel-room booking is a different product.
The current Mana Kai room information distinguishes hotel rooms from one- and two-bedroom condos. Individual ownership also means furnishings and upgrades vary. Don’t assume every room comes with the same view or layout.
The Beach House restaurant is undergoing renovation, and Mana Kai warns of possible construction noise and temporary disruption. Before reserving, ask where work is taking place and how it will affect your room and dates.
See the Mana Kai Maui listing for its contact route, and our Mana Kai review for a fuller look at the property. This comparison is about choosing the right setting and room type.
Hale Hui Kai: a condo base on the same beach
Hale Hui Kai is another Keawakapu option, with two-bedroom condos, full kitchens and a smaller beachfront setting. It’s a good fit when you want separate sleeping space and the option to prepare meals. The shared oceanfront pool puts a quick dip close to your beach chair.
Be precise about the view. A beachfront complex doesn’t mean every condo is oceanfront. The property manager’s Hale Hui Kai unit information illustrates why the exact rental matters: layout, equipment and outlook belong to the unit you’re booking.
Review the individual condo’s photographs and ask about air conditioning, stairs and any work nearby. Cooling systems vary between rentals, so check which rooms have air conditioning if that’s a priority for your group.
Keep the Hale Hui Kai listing handy when checking current availability and contact information.
Nāpili Kai: a bay setting with resort activities
We love Nāpili’s beach setting, and Nāpili Kai offers a resort experience beside the bay. Its current amenities include four swimming pools, an 18-hole putting green and a separate children’s putting green.
The resort’s current experience page lists its activities and inclusions. Room categories range from hotel accommodation to studios and suites, so choose your cooking facilities and sleeping arrangement deliberately.
Nāpili can be appealing for swimming, snorkeling and a day on the sand, but ocean conditions change. Assess the water each day, and let conditions determine whether the day’s plan is swimming or simply enjoying the shore.
See the Nāpili Kai Beach Resort listing when comparing rates and contacting the property.
The Whaler: condos beside Kāʻanapali’s beach path
The Whaler’s prime Kāʻanapali Beach location is the reason it made our list. Shopping and restaurants at Whalers Village are nearby, making it appealing when you want beach time and dining within a relatively compact area.
The property’s information describes individually owned studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom condos, with garden-view, ocean-view and oceanfront categories. A good view is something to select carefully, rather than assume for every unit.
In whale season, a suitable ocean-facing lanai may offer chances to watch offshore activity. Sightings depend on timing, the unit’s outlook and the whales themselves. Check the rental’s actual view photos, current fees and management arrangements.

Choose the beach, then the exact room
Among these four Maui beachfront stays, the first decision is South Maui or West Maui. Next comes the space: a compact hotel room, a studio or a condo with separate bedrooms. Compare the full cost for the same dates and ask which services your particular booking includes.
Once those basics fit, the decision becomes more enjoyable. Picture your morning coffee, the walk to the sand and where you’ll eat after a beach day. The right stay is the one that makes those everyday vacation moments easy for your group.
